The Bridge at Argenteuil (Monet Reproduction)
My brother Bill and I had not seen each other in years, and my professional career as an artist was taking off. This was about 12 years ago. One day, my brother Bill sent me an email and it included a picture of The Bridge at Argenteuil. He was being sarcastic when he said "Hey Susie, I painted this picture this afternoon. What do you think of it?" Yeah, right. So, I called him on the phone and told him he did a great job and that Monet would be proud of him. Well, we had a good laugh. This was right after Thanksgiving and knowing that Christmas was just around the corner, I spent a weekend and copied the Bridge at Argenteuil, had it framed, boxed it up (wet paint and all) and shipped it to my brother for a Christmas present. He choked on his words and he loves his painting which is proudly displayed in his home. Sibling rivalry is such fun sometimes. Private Collection. NFS.
