Busy, Busy, Busy
I can't even remember the last time I posted to our family site. That's how busy I have been! So, I'll just give you a brief on what's going on with everyone.
Mom: She underwent radiation treatment for 6 weeks for a lump under her arm and it was reduced. We hope and pray it doesn't return. She still suffers from Lymphoma, but is otherwise doing well. We've all noticed that her hearing is terrible and her judgment is slipping. She does things in the kitchen that she never used to do before like laying raw meat on the kitchen counter and then putting bread in the same spot to make a sandwich. She is also leaving the stove on. So we have to keep a close eye on her in the kitchen.
Bob: He is working like crazy with Avaya and traveling a lot too. He has been working every chance he has on the front yard to finish the irrigation system he is putting in. I can't wait to get it finished and look forward to landscaping the front of the house. Then we can start on the inside - painting and remodeling.
Sarah: Sarah has been very committed to her piano. She is playing beautiful classical, jazz, and blues and practices for hours every day. We are all very proud of her. Julliard....her she comes!!! She loves her piano teacher, Claire Ritter, and we think that Claire will be able to take Sarah all the way to her goals.
Matthew: Matthew isn't committed to the piano - at all. I think he feels like he is competing with Sarah. Anyway, he is committed to studying Space and Science. He tells me he wants to be an astronomer when he grows up. He got an electric guitar for Christmas and he will be taking lessons soon. Maybe the guitar is the right instrument for Matthew.
Glen: Glen loves the piano and plays every day just like Sarah. If Sarah isn't at the piano, Glen is sitting there playing his songs and practicing his lessons. He started piano lessons at the beginning of this year and I really think he will do well. We also got him a set of drums for Christmas and he pounds on those too. He has been making a lot of music!
Susan: Well, I've been busy on Red Easel, helping friends with moving, and trying to keep up with all the housework. The kids are doing great with their home studies and are 3 happy kids. I haven't done any painting in the last month and can't wait to get back to the studio. I am trying to decide the palette of colors I want to use on the interior of our home and I am trying to plan for the fabrics for drapes too. I make them myself. There is just so much to do on the inside of the house.
Bob and I enjoyed our 15th Anniversary in New York. It was a day trip but a lot of memories were made. While Bob attended meetings in the morning, I spent the day a the Metropolitan Museum of Art and went gaga over all the magnificent impressionist paintings. Being face-to-face with such greatness is amazing. That evening, Bob and I had a romantic dinner at Frankie & Johnnies in the Theatre district. It was wonderful. Then our ride picked us up and took us to the airport where we caught a flight home. It took me 4 days to recover from that 1 day trip. I'm wearing out in my old age I suppose.
Nothing else going on around here. Just trying to keep up with the laundry is a full time job.
